The University of Texas - Pan American is located in Edinburg, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, also known as Deep South Texas, and is easily accessible from US-281.

The McAllen-Miller International Airport (MFE), approximately 12 miles from the UTPA, serves the Edinburg-McAllen-Mission area as the primary business airport of the Rio Grande Valley of Deep South Texas and . The three air carriers serving are American Airlines with nonstop service to Dallas, Continental Airlines with nonstop service to Houston, and Delta Airlines with nonstop service to Atlanta.

If you come by Automobile, directions are as follows:

Houston to Edinburg (US-59 --> US-77 --> TX-141 --> US-281) 

Dallas to Edinburg (I-35 --> I-37 --> US-281) 
Austin to Edinburg (I-35 --> I-37 --> US-281) 
San Antonio to Edinburg (I-37 --> US-281)

 

Directions to UTPA:

 

  • From US-281 take the University Drive (TX-107) exit and turn West.
  • Drive around the Court House and continue on University Drive.
  • UTPA will be on your right after Dr. Miguel A Nevarez Drive.

 Around UTPA campus:

The Department of Mathematics is located on the north side of the campus in the MAGC building (Mathematics and General Classroom, #24 on map).

·       The UTPA Ballroom is located at the southwest corner of the campus in the  building Campus Dining Services and Ballroom (UCCF, #7 on map).

Across from campus on the South side of University Drive there is a variety of restaurants. It takes about 15 minutes to walk across campus and University Drive to reach these restaurants.
